Rocket puts six players under contract

Rocket agree to terms on a one-year, one-way AHL contract with forwards Vincent Arseneau and Laurent Dauphin, defensemen Joshua Jacobs, Vincent Sévigny and Tyler Wotherspoon and agree to terms on a one-year two-way AHL contract with goaltender Hunter Jones

The Laval Rocket announced on Monday that the team has agreed to terms on a one-year, one-way AHL contract (2024-25) with forwards Vincent Arseneau and Laurent Dauphin, defensemen Joshua Jacobs, Vincent Sévigny and Tyler Wotherspoon and to terms on a one-year AHL two-way contract (2024-25) with goaltender Hunter Jones.

Arseneau, 32, the 6’2″, 216 lbs forward, had six goals and three assists in 44 games last season with the Providence Bruins in the AHL.

Dauphin, 29, the 6’0″, 185 lbs forward, had 16 goals and 22 assists in 44 games last season with HC Ambrì-Piotta (Switzerland). The forward will be back with the Rocket, having played 64 games with the Laval team in three seasons (2019-2020 to 2021-2022).

A native of Repentigny, Dauphin was selected in the second round (39th overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft by the Phoenix Coyotes.

Jacobs, 28, the 6’2″, 220 lbs defenseman, had four goals and six assists in 43 games with the Colorado Eagles in the AHL during the 2022-2023 season.

A native of Shelby Township, Michigan, Jacobs was selected in the second round (41st overall) in the 2014 NHL Draft by the New Jersey Devils.

Sévigny, 23, the 6’3″, 194 lbs defenseman, had one goal and four assists in 33 games last season with the Bridgeport Islanders in the AHL.

Wotherspoon, 31, the 6’2″, 207 lbs defenseman, had four goals and 18 assists in 65 games last season with the Utica Comets in the AHL.

A native of Burnaby, British Columbia, Wotherspoon was selected in the second round (57th overall) in the 2011 NHL Draft by the Calgary Flames.

Jones, 23, the 6’5’’, 209 lbs goaltender, had a 3.61 goals-against average and .890 save percentage in 18 games last season with the Iowa Heartlanders in the ECHL.

A native of Brantford, Ontario, Jones was selected in the second round (59th overall) in the 2019 NHL Draft by the Minnesota Wild.
